Katherine Wertheim

KATHERINE WERTHEIM, CFRE teaches people how to ask for money and get it. She has raised millions of dollars for dozens of organizations. She has taught fundraising to thousands of people from Massachusetts to Malaysia and from Seattle to Santiago, in 22 states, Asia and Latin America. Her published works on fundraising have been viewed by more than 200,000 people worldwide. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, an earned credential held by fewer than 3% of fund-raising professionals. She is a Master Trainer with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, one of 242 in the world. She is the president of Werth-It, a consulting firm providing fundraising and board training to nonprofit organizations.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Occidental College where, as a political science major, she failed to notice fellow classmate and future U.S. President Barack Obama, an omission she deeply regrets.

She lives in Ventura, California.
