Nick Marchese

Director of Academic & Strategic Technology at Emma Willard School

Nick began his career in education as a music teacher after getting both of his degrees in Music Education from Jacksonville University then NYU. His passion for music led him to technology, starting with audio/video software and growing with his roles at the Academy of Innovative Technology High School and the Berkeley Carroll School in Brooklyn, New York, where he was Upper School Technology Integrator. Upon joining Emma Willard School in 2018, Nick created an Academic Technology department dedicated to using technology positively, safely, and with integrity. He works closely with students and teachers on purposeful and lasting use of technology to enhance and support teaching and learning in the classroom. In addition to leading the Academic Technology department, Nick is an advisor, a club leader, and oversees campus-wide audio/video systems. He also serves on Blackbaud’s K–12 Advisory Board.

Some of Nick’s passions include creating automations and scripts with Google Apps Script (and getting others excited about them), pushing into classrooms to integrate technology in innovative ways like podcasting, and brainstorming with others while drinking tea and eating scones. Nick loves music, puzzles, and playing games with his family.
