Penny Cowden, MPA, CFRE, FAHP, is president of Philanthropy212 where she partners with not-for-profit organizations to develop, enhance, and inspire their philanthropic success.
Penny has specialized in philanthropy for twenty-five years holding executive positions at health systems in Washington, Colorado, Virginia and Arizona. In these positions, Penny has been responsible for board development, strategic planning, operations and managing comprehensive development programs to support numerous programs and services as well as marketing and community relations.
Consulting areas include operations, strategic planning, development audits, capital campaigns, donor recognition and stewardship, planned giving, moves management and philanthropic marketing and communications. In partnership with Dr. Lance Secretan, she offers a unique philanthropy leadership workshop that focuses on inspiring yourself and donors to reach unprecedented levels of philanthropic success.
Penny earned her bachelor’s degree from Portland State University and master’s degree from Washington State University. She holds the CFRE designation and has earned advanced certification as a Fellow in the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP)
